Our tour brings us up north of Hua-hin to Phetchburi. We begin by visiting Wat Mahathat Temple. It stands proud and tall. It's nonetheless stylistically influenced by the Khmer period and its architectural interest compares to years gone by.The towering central stupa rises from the middle of a cloister lined with Buddha images and is surrounded by smaller stupas each with a small chapel. From there, we will visit a stucco-art-decorated temple. After Wat Yaisuwannaram we travel to another important temple which contains 300 year-old- mural paintings of mythical angels. The Ayutthaya throne hall was entirely built of teakwood and decorated with fine carving work especially at the door panel.
Before the journey continues to Khao Luang Cave, which houses not less than 170 Buddha images, we continue our journey to the beautiful summer palace, Phara Nakhonkhiri of King Rama IV, later the setting of the famous movie. We see the Royal Heritage in the palace museum and admire the spectacular view from the observatory. Then at last, lunch will be taken in Petchburi town. The Phetchuri sweet is an un-secret recipe as our inclusive demonstration and yourself creation before we head back to the hotel.
